so i havent updated in a long time and judging by the current circumstances i think it is appropriate...so im sitting in the hallway outside the registrars office waiting to register for next semester...we've been here since three...im tired, grumpy, dirty, bored, and overall just crappy...but hopefully this is going to pay off and i get into the classes i want...so on a lighter note i think i'll start last week...we saw jarhead and all i have to say is fuck yeah...that movie kicks so much ass...its so sad but fucking hillarious..."just a little fuck fuck game we play with the new guys"...then on saturday we went to an arab resturaunt and had awesoem food...there was live music, belly dancers, and a great night...we smoked some hookah...it was great...then this week was my mass media term paper...it was good...

weekend recap

November 1st, 2005 (03:51 pm)

current mood: good
current song: be my baby -the ronettes

okay...i sat down to write a weekend recap and realized i had no recollection of the order of events from wednesday on...but i worked it out...so...

on wednesday or thursday (no one i was with was sure of the date either) i went with some people to go see "running with scissors" which is supposed to be released next year...we were the first audience to watch the movie which might i add is fucking incredible...i cannot stress it enough how incredibly good this movie is...the best dark comedy i've seen..ever...

friday was good...woke up...skipped math and mass media...went to the bank...i was sick...it was cold and overcast...jessica drove us to six flags marine world...in comparing it to magic mountain this place is tiny...we went on the few roller coasters that were open...it was wet and rainy... the one that i liked best was called v2 i think...it was pretty intense...

saturday i slept in...we went swing dancing that night...i already talked about it...fell asleep on the trip back home...it was a good night...

sunday i worked for thirteen hours...i dont want to relive that so thats all i'll say...

monday...yesterday...halloween...kinda went trick or treating...didnt dress up again...we got back after the "trick or treating" and some people were going to the city...we decided to go...the best way to describe halloween in san fransisco is like mardi gras for one night...most of the city goes to the gay district (castro st.) and everyone is drunk and in costumes...there were tons of freaks, drag queens, young girls, drunk college students, overtly gay men, and anything you could imagine...it was fun to watch...i say watch cause we drive around forever looking for parking and we found a spot nine blocks away and decided not to stay...so on the trip back ingrid slept, camille and jessica and sarah went insane and i sat and took it all in...a good night...queer but good...

so i was like dude...no not really...im listening to kanye west...jesus walks is stuck in my head from that trailer from the movie jarhead...i wann see that...so i was thinking today...and like i usually do when i think...i got distracted but...i was thinking about what it would be like if i didnt leave socal and i was like...that would be weird...but i think i would choose a career as a beach bum...it might be fun and i think i could pull it off...i dunno...id probably stay at home and watch porn for the rest of my life...its not like i dont do that now but it would be different...well so i was talking to my friend and she decideded that i shoudl make a top 5 list like in high fidelity of my favorite songs so here it goes...
god only knows by the beach boys
and...the only living boy in new york by simon and garfunkel
and...got to get you into my life by the beatles
and...the man who sold the world by nirvana even tho its really by david bowie
and...touch me by the doors
thats my list...cool huh...i get the weirdest things...like that i reminded this same friend of john cusaks character in high fidelity...that was cool...weird but cool
im pretty hyper and i was being nostalgic...and i was reminded of the play...we had that hairspray and d'amico walked up and sprayed it into b lee's eyes and then junked him...i was laughing so hard...but then b lee got d'amico back so bad he was down for at least twenty minutes...
good times...then there was buddy holly...and nat stealing my glasses...good memories...
so im watching tommy lee goes to college...its funny
im ranting so i'll stop...ciao

So I went to the high holy day service for Rosh Hashanah this morning. It was good. And since it was a Reformist Jewish service during the part where they blow the rams horn I got to hold the Torah. They gave me a yarmukle and made we wear this cloth and i held it while the rabbi turmpeted a rams horn...interesting...thats all...ciao

You Know You're From San Francisco When...
You take a bus and are shocked that 2 people are carrying on a conversation in English. Someone says TENDERLOIN - you don't think of steak. You never bother looking at the MUNI line schedule because you know the drivers have never seen it. A really great parking space can move you to tears. You know that anyone wearing shorts in July must be visiting from Ohio. You assume every company offers domestic partner benefits. Your boss runs in "The Bay to Breakers"....and it's not the first time you have seen him/her nude. You are thinking of taking an adult class but you can't decide between yoga, aroma therapy, conversational mandarin or a building your own web site class. You haven't been to Fisherman's Wharf since the first month you moved to SF and you couldn't figure out how to drive to Coit Tower if your life depended on it. You were born somewhere else. Left is right and right is wrong. Your monthly house payments exceed your annual income. You dive under a desk whenever a large truck goes by. You can't find your other earring because your son is wearing it. Your family tree contains "significant others." Your cat has its own psychiatrist. Smoking in your office is not optional. You pack shorts and a T-shirt for skiing in the snow, and a sweater and a wetsuit for the beach. Rainstorms or thunder are the lead story for the local news. Gas costs $1.00 per gallon more than anywhere else in the US A man gets on the bus in full leather regalia and crotchless chaps. You don't even notice. Your car insurance costs as much as your house payment. You give a "thumbs up" gesture to a car with a "Free Tibet" bumper sticker - and you mean it. When you drive under an underpass - for one moment you think "earthquake". You realize the only Republicans you know are your Aunt and Uncle in Texas. You realize there are far more Rainbow flags in the city than California State Flags. You go to your office manager's baby shower - the parent's are named Judy and Becky. When your church elects a new Bishop who abandoned his family and two young daughters to fulfill his sexual urges with another man. You actually get these jokes and pass them on to other friends from San Francisco.

Its true...and I dont even live in San Francisco...its like the whole bay...sad
